Welcome to our New Pad!

Tuesday, August 16, 2011

As promised – here is a short tour of new apartment – well the highlights.  Once all of our stuff gets here (in a month-ish – fingers crossed!!!!) things will start to look like home, but until then…  welcome to our casa.

First, let’s start with the closet.  Yes, I think I heard a chorus of angels in the background the first time I walked in – wouldn’t you?!  And this picture is just part of it! Keep in mind we’re coming from Old Town Alexandria (not Texas!!!) – where space does not exist.

Next, let me introduce you to another one of my favorite – well the most intriguing area of the house.  Our glassed in toilet.
Snazzy, eh? I have never felt like a museum exhibit before, but hanging out in here I feel like I should have a plaque, something that reads…
Girl on Toilet – 2011; Artist Anon.
Hey, every home needs a good conversation piece – mine just so happens to be the toilet!

And now, welcome to my cocina. Check out that 5 burner stove, and the cabinet and countertop space!  I am itching for all of my kitchen stuff to get here so I can cook up a storm.  I’m thinking a goat cheese + beet salad, cream of pumpkin soup, braised beef short ribs, roasted veggies, and pot au creme for dessert. (I know, sans job I have a lot more time these days to daydream!)

Last but not least (for now) is our living room.   Comphy, spacious, open –  I’m picturing a lot of xbox Kinect being played in this room!!!
Hope you enjoyed your tour; I’ll invite you back for more once I get things set up!
Cheers!

  3. Your closet could beat up my closet, and yet people still grumble that we have a house instead of an apartment.

  6. That closet is FANTASTIC! Make sure to put that on the post reports, I bet a lot of people would consider Guadalajara just for that!

So how many bedrooms do you guys get? Is it like us with 3 bedrooms that we can do things like a "workout room"?
